Drama Club

"The Drama Club puts on two productions a year - one fall (non-musical) production, and a spring musical. Acting roles are given out by an initial round of auditions that include monologues and singing (if applicable), followed by a 2nd round of callbacks. Students interested in building, props, lights, sounds, and set work are invited to join as well! See Mr. Allen for more details and schedules."

Earth Club

"The mission of the Earth Club is to promote stewardship toward the Earth through environmental awareness in the school and the community. The club is open to 7-12 students and meetings are held in Room 220 weekly. Listen to the announcements or see a member or Ms. Kehn if you have any quesitons. "

Elementary Knitting Club

"Students learn to knit using looms to create hats, scarves, and other projects. Hats are made for donation to local children in need. Meetings are Tuesday and Wednesday after school in room 39."

Elementary Ski Club

Open to: Students in Grades 5 - 8

"Enjoy 6 weeks of skiing/boarding at nearby Willard Mountain. Each week for 6 weeks, beginning January 4th, 2012, the bus leaves at 3:45PM and returns about 9:30PM. We ski/board from 4-9PM! The six-week cost is only $120, or with rentals $155. Not only is this a great way to enjoy the winter but even AFTER our 6 weeks, club members can STILL ski/board on Wednesday PM for free! If renting during the season, you'd only pay $5 for the rentals on those evenings! Please stop by my room or call me for forms and other information! ...and it's a great Christmas gift too!"

FOR (Friends of Rachel - Elementary

"On April 20, 1999, a tragedy took place in the state of Colorado. Rachel Scott was the first person killed at Columbine High School on April 20, 1999. As a result of this tragedy a program called “Rachel’s Challenge” was created. Rachel Scott was compassionate (kind) and cared about others. We have a club in our school that is called FOR. FOR stands for “Friends of Rachel.” In this club, we work on promoting acts of kindness and supporting Rachel’s theory: “that if one person can go out of their way to show compassion then it will start a chain reaction of the same.”

Gay Straight Alliance Club (GSA)

Open to: Any 7-12 grade student

"The mission of the Hoosick Falls Gay Straight Alliance is to help stop discrimination and prejudice in schools and to educate staff and students on the negative effects they have not only on the students but also the climate of the school."

High School Ski Club

"This year we will be skiing on Tuesday Nights at Jiminy Peak. Enjoy 6 weeks of ski/snowboarding beginning January 3rd, 2012. We ski and snowboard from 4-9PM. The six week cost is $155. Registration packets are available in the High School Main Office and outside room 221."

Key Club

"Key Club is the oldest and largest service program for high school students. What makes Key Club so successful is the fact that it is a student-led organization that teaches leadership through serving others. Our HFCS Key Club is sponsored by the Hoosick Falls Kiwanis Club."

Knitting Group

"Knitting Group meets to learn the basics of knitting and to contribute to a group effort for charity knitting. An ongoing project is a blanket for "Warm Up America," an organization that donates hand-made blankets to children in need."
The Knitting Group meets Wednesdays after school in the Jr./Sr. High Library.

Pep Band

Twilight Zone Discussion Group

"Two times monthly, the group will meet after school and view a classic episode of The Twilight Zone television series from the early 1960s. Then, following the episode, we will have a roundtable discussion of the themes examined in the story."
